“I was quietly minding my own business, just watching a band with a co-worker of mine when suddenly I see this guy in the pit. It’s Frank and as he trips and falls, he’s getting kneed in the face. I was thinking to myself they would have scored points for this had it been a K1 fight.

So, my co-worker says: “Wow, that must have hurt..”  So I check it out a little more and then I realise… It’s Frankie! Oh no, he looks pretty dizzy, that can’t be good. Better I take a closer look. After wrestling through a sea of people and a swamp of friends, I arrive at the scene and right away it’s obvious, Frank’s not doing too well.

So I take him backstage, I ask him some general questions to see how he’s doing, but he seems even more disoriented than normal ( 😉 ) It looks like a concussion or something.

Now, taking into consideration Frank’s medical past, his cranium being a sensitive area and all, I decide to call an ambulance. Because you never know.

Eventhough he can’t tell me what day it is and he can’t even recount the letters of the alphabet it takes some talking-to before Frank’s convinced of the necessity of getting into the ambulance.

I notify his mother, so Frank has company in First Aid.

Later it turns out, Frank indeed has a concussion, which proves he has a brain. A week later Frank expresses his gratitude by giving me the coolest drumcover this world ever saw. Awesome!”
